Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the most common questions we receive about our industrial electrical services. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Give us a call on 01903 721 884.
Can you work outside normal business hours?
Absolutely. We understand businesses need to continue operating, so we regularly work evenings, weekends, and overnight to minimize disruption. This is included in our project planning from the start.
How long does an office fit-out take?
A small office (500-1,000 sq ft) typically takes 5-10 days. Larger offices or complex installations may take 2-4 weeks. We provide detailed schedules during the quotation stage and coordinate with other trades.
Do you have commercial insurance and accreditation?
Yes, we carry £10 million public liability insurance and are fully accredited by NICEIC, CHAS, and Checkatrade. We can provide copies of our insurance certificates and accreditation documents upon request.
What certification do you provide for commercial work?
We provide full Electrical Installation Certificates (EIC) for all commercial installations, along with test results, as-built drawings where applicable, and operation manuals. All documentation is provided in both hard copy and digital formats.
Can you provide risk assessments and method statements?
Yes, we provide comprehensive RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for all commercial projects. These are tailored to your specific site and comply with your health and safety requirements.
Do you offer electrical maintenance contracts?
Yes, we offer bespoke maintenance contracts including planned preventative maintenance, priority call-out, and discounted rates for contract holders. These can include regular testing, emergency lighting checks, and PAT testing.
How often should commercial premises be electrically tested?
Generally every 5 years for most commercial properties, or every 3 years for higher-risk environments. Some insurance companies require more frequent testing. We’ll advise based on your specific premises and usage.
Can you integrate with building management systems?
Yes, we have experience integrating electrical systems with BMS platforms for lighting control, energy monitoring, and automated building management. We work with most major BMS providers.
What's included in your electrical testing service?
Our EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) includes full visual inspection, dead and live testing of all circuits, earth loop impedance testing, RCD testing, and a comprehensive report with observations coded C1, C2, or C3, plus recommendations for remedial works.
Do you work with architects and project managers?
Regularly. We’re experienced in working as part of larger project teams, attending site meetings, coordinating with other trades, and providing technical input during design phases.
